Units across the university use email to market to external audiences, including prospective students and parents, alumni, donors, corporate or foundation partners, and the like. Even where it might be convenient for university units or stakeholders to see our unit activities as separate, other stakeholders and the government see our activities as stemming from a singular source.

Learn how the ITS DEI Education & Scholarship subcommittee adapted to meet the needs of the moment. Our in-person formal training series was interrupted by Covid as the subcommittee was embarking on year 4 of the 5-year ITS DEI Strategic Plan. The committee had dramatic changes in both the skillsets and resources available even as Summer 2020 demanded a response to current events. These changes necessitated a significant shift in both the development and delivery of DEI content to focus more on current events and virtual engagement.

ITS provides several account options for people who are affiliated with U-M in unusual capacities — for example, summer program attendees, volunteers, and vendors. In this poster presentation, we'll explain the differences among the options and what questions to consider to help you pick the best fit for your situation. Following the Michigan mandate to transmit all prescriptions electronically by October 1, 2021, the School of Dentistry required a mechanism to deliver training to all dental school students, regardless of their location, and to support staff & faculty providers ahead of upgrades to the MiDent patient record system.

In January of 2021, HITS launched a fully digital gate approval process for projects. A simple workflow in ServiceNow enabling asynchronous approvals replaced an in-person/online meeting every other week requiring participation from 18 approvers or their delegates and a project manager or representative for each project submitted for approval.

Informatica Cloud is the cloud-based version of our current on-premise Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) product that is designed to perform large data operations.

This past summer Ross IT deployed a new AV user interface as part of our larger classroom AV and IT upgrade project. One key goal was to reduce faculty frustration by providing a new more intuitive user interface for controlling classroom AV equipment in all of our classrooms.
