MCommunity Transformation Project

Presented by: DePriest Dockins & Jennifer Wilkerson | ITS

Abstract

MCommunity is being transformed! After over ten years, the applications lack many functions needed to support the University community’s needs. The MCommunity Transformation will include new group features with more granular privacy controls, more management possibilities for your MCommunity profile, and advanced search capabilities. New MCommunity profile features include the ability for users to add pronouns to their profile, profile pictures, set their display name, display a QR code for contact, and manage their AKAs.

IT Administrators will have more group management functions with automated, rule-based membership and the ability to designate a group as business-critical and protect it from the standard expiration process. This project will also allow the university to reduce production support costs, maximize automation, improve the user experience, and retire outdated tools and applications.
