Ross IT Classroom Upgrade

Presented by: Chris Visel & Lonnie Neuman | ROSS IT

Abstract

This past summer Ross IT deployed a new AV user interface as part of our larger classroom AV and IT upgrade project. One key goal was to reduce faculty frustration by providing a new more intuitive user interface for controlling classroom AV equipment in all of our classrooms. The new interface had to adapt to different classroom AV configurations while still providing the same user experience. We used Pepperdash, a leading provider of Crestron and AMX programming services with extensive experience with educational institutions, to do the programming. Pepperdash was able to provide a working design that had already been tested extensively, which shortened the design and development time significantly and fit in our very aggressive project timeline. The new design was a resounding success. Not only does our user base love the new design, but it turns out our IT Support Staff love it, too. We get fewer classroom support requests and the requests are easier to resolve, and our support staff report greater satisfaction in supporting a product that they believe in.
