Facilities & Operations

Facilities and Operations (F&O) creates and maintains authoritative data about the built environment—campus buildings, rooms/spaces, infrastructure networks, and the asset inventory for major equipment and systems. F&O also manages operational records such as work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, custodial/grounds activities, utilities and energy use, parking and transportation information and service requests that document day-to-day performance and lifecycle history. In addition, F&O steward project, finance, and compliance data for renovations and capital construction (e.g., scopes, schedules, costs, permits, and safety/environmental documentation) to support planning, reporting, and regulatory requirements.

Financial Operations

Financial Operations data consists of the following sub-categories:

  • Payroll: data related to payroll activity for all three campuses, including time and labor, payroll, and leave data.
  • Student Accounts: data related to student account billing and payment processing for the Ann Arbor campus, and recovery of past-due student accounts and student loans for the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses.
  • Investments: investment-related data, including investments in long-term, monthly, and daily portfolios, holdings by individual schools, income funds, etc.
  • General Ledger: all historical actual financial data maintained within the University's general ledger system.
  • General Accounting: information about all chartfields and their uses with in the General Ledger, and how to process activity for General Ledger transactions.
  • Internal Controls: Internal Controls gap analysis, sub-certification and internal controls answers and reports.
