Celebrate Technology & Innovation on December 10

Register to attend the Michigan IT 2024 Winter Innovation Expo (WIE) on December 10 at the Central Campus Classroom Building (CCCB). Join technology professionals from all four U-M campuses that comprise the Michigan IT community for this energizing and engaging professional development opportunity. Explore cutting-edge technologies, learn about innovative projects, connect with other technology professionals, and hear from campus leaders and innovators who are empowering the leaders and best through technology!

The Michigan IT Winter Innovation Expo is open to all University of Michigan IT and technology professionals, advocates, and enthusiasts. This year’s event will showcase innovation from across the university, including a keynote address, a poster session, and the top four teams from the Michigan IT 2024 Hacks with Friends making their final presentations in front of a distinguished panel of judges.

The Winter Innovation Expo is sponsored by the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer and organized by the Michigan IT Steering Committee.

"Bringing the National Student Success Movement to Michigan - Charging Down the Silos & Surfing the Wave of Decentralization"
This presentation details the ongoing efforts to build a Student Success Initiative on Michigan's Ann Arbor campus, from its formal inception in a Winter 2023 task force report to the nuts and bolts strategies that have been deployed since January 2024 when Vice Provost Dillard was appointed. Dillard will discuss how she and her growing team of collaborators have used data-driven and evidence-based approaches to navigate a series of opportunities and challenges on our highly decentralized campus.

2024 Expo Co-Chairs

The Michigan IT Steering Committee and the Winter Innovation Expo planning team are proud to recognize the co-chairs for the 2024 Expo: Elizabeth Fomin, senior instructional consultant, within U-M LSA Technology Services; and Daniel (Dan) Burgess, business systems analyst lead and service owner for learning management with U-M Information and Technology Services Teaching & Learning. Their leadership and support of this year’s event are appreciated.

Parking and Directions

The Central Campus Classroom Building (CCCB) is located at 1225 Geddes Ave., Ann Arbor. Parking options near the CCCB vary depending on whether you are looking for visitor parking or have a parking permit. Parking structures can fill up quickly, especially during peak times, so it's a good idea to arrive early or consider alternative transportation options if you're worried about finding a spot.

Visitor Parking:

  1. Palmer Drive Parking Structure (N26) - Located off Palmer Drive, this structure is convenient for central campus and offers visitor parking.
  2. Forest Avenue Parking Structure - Another close option, located at 650 S Forest Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
  3. Maynard Parking Structure (Liberty Square) - This structure is at Maynard St between Liberty St and William St, offering easy access to central campus.

Permit Parking:

  1. Thompson Street Parking Structure (W18) - Located at 500 Thompson St, it is available for those with Yellow, Blue, and Business Vehicle Permit (BVP).
  2. Hill Street Parking Structure (W16) - Located at 1101 Hill St, it supports Orange and Yellow permits.
  3. Fletcher Parking Structure (N20) - Located at 201 Fletcher St, this structure supports Blue and Gold permits.

Additional Options:

  1. Street Parking - There are metered parking spots located on several streets around the CCCB. Be sure to check the meters for time limits and enforcement hours.
  2. Public Transport - The U-M Blue Bus system offers routes that stop near the CCCB and other central campus locations, which is a convenient option if you have parking access further from the central area.
