Leave a comment or question for the poster presenter below their abstract.

Grouper at U-M is officially a service! The Identity and Access Management Team would like to spread the word about its capabilities and the access management challenges it is able to solve for people across the University who manage access to services.

  • IT professionals across U-M can quickly create and manage their own access control groups, empowering the right people to manage access.
  • Automates the management of group membership to keep it current in near real-time.
  • Automatically syncs a group where it is needed to manage access in near real-time.
  • Auditable - tracks changes to membership over time.
  • Shows who is in an access control group and why as well as what access it provides.
  • Offers a big-picture view of what resources a person has access to and which access control groups provide it.

We are interested in chatting with the University community to learn more about potential use cases for Grouper and receive feedback about the current service. We want to expand the service Grouper at U-M to be positioned as the main tool for the access management needs of the University.
