The Alumni Association has adopted a Google Site to share internal resources for advancing DEI topics among staff. By itself, this isn't remarkable, either as technology or as a DEI initiative. We discovered that in itself, though, the DEI committee wasn't as diverse or inclusive as it could have been: enter AwesomeTable and Google Sheets. By leveraging a simple Google Sheet with simple columns of data (topic, format, length), we provided an opportunity for the entire staff to share their favorite or meaningful resources for their own DEI journey. Awesome Table provides a display layer that allows filtering, visual styling, and embedding in the Google Site. We've seen great engagement and improved adoption by all staff.
