Improving the Student Experience with My UM-Dearborn (video)

Breakout Sessions: December 15, 4:15–5 p.m.

The UM-Dearborn campus recently went through strategic planning with a focus on “enhancing the student experience and success." Salesforce was chosen to fill a key role to support this initiative - enabling the campus community to better engage with students, and supports the ultimate goal of a 360° view of a student. This project focused on multiple areas, including advising, case management, multi-channel communication, and the development of a “One Stop” for overall improved student support. Each of these components roll up into a new student portal: My UM-Dearborn, which serves as a central hub for many campus resources. Students may now use their portal to interact with cases, schedule appointments with their “Success Team Members“, browse our knowledge base, and complete any tasks assigned to them by faculty/staff. The “Student Experience” project has been a large initiative, with many groups across our campus contributing to its success. We are excited to share this project with our colleagues, and some of the lessons that we have learned.
