How to Prepare for a Virtual Career Fair

Michigan IT Student Career Fair

  1. Polish your resume and ensure it best represents your skill sets in IT.

  2. Research the participating units and what roles they are looking for. Come to the event with questions.

  3. Only book one meeting per participating unit during registration to respect the recruiter’s time.

  4. Ensure your Zoom client is the most up-to-date so you don’t run into issues on the day of the event. Visit Getting Started with Zoom for more information.

  5. Test your internet connection from the location you plan to be at during the fair. Review these video conferencing best practices for additional tips.

  6. Follow through after the event! Reach out to the recruiter with a thank-you email, and apply for the position.
