Summer & Special Programs: From On-campus to On-line

Presented by: Colleen McCormick | ITS; Marissa Taylor | Center for Educational Outreach; Edward Czilli | ISR/ICPSR; & Jessica Weirauch | Student Life/Conference & Event Services

Abstract

Many programs, including summer camps for K-12 students, professional conferences , and other academic and non-academic programs are held on the U-M campus each year. In 2020, due to COVID-19, some of these had to be cancelled, but collaborations between the ITS Outreach & Special Programs team and key program coordinators allowed many to successfully move online. These collaborations leveraged ITS Services, including Zoom, Canvas, and Google Suite as well as sponsored accounts to provide program participants access since many are from outside the U-M community. Program consultations were provided by the Center for Educational Outreach (CEO), the Conference & Events team, and the program managers. This poster will show the processes developed to respond to program needs and share lessons learned. Reference materials are included.
