Real-time Music Performance with Jamulus

Presented by: Briya Bhakta, Sean Demonner, & Zhen Qian | ITS Teaching and Learning

Abstract

As social distancing continues to be the order of the day, there is a need for technology solutions to support real-time synchronous musical performance online. Jamulus is free, open source software that supports online jamming. ITS Teaching & Learning is piloting a Jamulus server to support experimentation in online instruction and performance needs by the School of Music, Theater and Dance and other campus units. We will share details of the Jamulus client software and its use by musicians, as well an overview of the server setup.
