SiteMaker Project Roadmap
The following timeline for SiteMaker was based on input from a broad cross-section of stakeholders. This timeline was the start of a roadmap for the transition from SiteMaker to other website hosting solutions.
June 30, 2014 - no new sites can be created.

- the "edit content" action from the Website Sections page
- the "Edit" link on rendered text/image sections
- the "Create New Section" link
- the "Edit Section" button from the section properties page
October 30, 2015 - No site access/archive only
Nov 30, 2015 - Decommission SiteMaker
ITS is committed to providing support for the orderly retirement of SiteMaker. There were three paths to successful migration of content: Self Service, Facilitated and Consultation
In many cases users could easily copy and paste the content from SiteMaker to another service, like Google Sites, Drupal, or Word Press. With many browsers the links and formatting were be retained. There was an export for sites that use the Data Tables feature. The tables could be uploaded into tools such as Google Forms.
Some existing SiteMaker sites had extensive content or used the Data Tables feature for custom applications. In those cases, users needed assistance from local technical support or one of the temporary staff hired to facilitate migration.
In cases where complex data structures or mission critical services were built in SiteMaker, users could consult with a team member to plan out an appropriate migration strategy.
