#SiteMaker Update: PROJECT COMPLETE

<PUBLISHED IN ITS CONNECTION POINTS DECEMBER 17, 2015>

ITS decommissioned SiteMaker on November 30, marking the end of a successful two-year project! With help from our terrific colleagues at the Library, Medical School Information Services, LSA, and other units, SiteMaker went from a service with over 12,000 sites in 2013 to zero active sites today.

Here is a quick overview of what the project accomplished:

-- Completed 900+ deletion and 984 archive requests.

-- Performed over 150 consultations.

-- Assisted in over 1,000 site migrations to alternate services.

What’s left to do:

-- Fulfill remaining archive requests. That effort is on schedule to be complete by the end of December.

-- Work with the U-M Web Team and Hostmaster on scheduling a cutover to a new virtual host for DNS redirects.

-- Consolidate and archive project documentation and prepare final project reports.

Congratulations and kudos to everyone involved!
